4. Quick Facts on Chinatown/North Beach Campus:

  • Established in August 1977
  • Currently located at 940 Filbert Street and throughout eight Chinatown, North Beach, and Marina sites
  • Currently serves 6200+ students; 700 are on the waiting list at the start of each semester
  • Construction of new campus projected to begin early 2008 with an estimated completion date of 2010
  • Project will cost $122 million; the state has contributed $48 million and voters in San Francisco approved three bond measures in 1997, 2001 and 2005 for the remainder of the funds
  • Each month of delay costs and additional $500,000 because of current estimated construction inflation rate of 6%
